The Ministry of Energy, Mining, and Environment​ oversees the development and implementation of the National Energy Strategy for Enhancing Energy Efficiency. It participates, in collaboration with the organizations concerned, in the preparation and application of legislation and regulations in this area. In this context, she is in charge of:

•  Develop a multi-year plan for the development of energy efficiency particularly in buildings, industry and transport and ensure its implementation and updating;
•  Develop a national energy audit plan and the impact of the energy sector on local development and ensure its implementation;
•   Develop and implement, in collaboration with the organizations concerned, cooperation projects and actions in the field of energy efficiency ;
•   Organize and lead activities related to energy efficiency;
• Contribute to the promotion of research and development, technological innovation and technology transfer in the field of energy efficiency.
